Standards And Content Quality

Understanding Best Practices for Your Releases

ONErpm works carefully to follow the terms and policies of all our digital partners. To that end, all albums registered on our platform undergo a careful content analysis before being approved and sent for release.

Within this analysis are specific criteria regarding album cover art, album titles, track titles, artist names, and other information that must be registered correctly. All information must be truthful, consistent with the work being submitted, and within the norms of all digital platforms we work with.

In an effort to comply with the policies of digital platforms, some content registered on our platform may be rejected for being outside the quality standards of ONErpm and our partners.

Furthermore, ONErpm is constantly working to eliminate any artificial streaming activity and non-organic plays on our service. We examine all our data and playback statistics daily to ensure quality standards are met. Products identified with abnormal activity will be flagged as artificial, which will result in sanctions ranging from the removal of the album on platforms to the blocking of the account on ONErpm. You can click here for more information on artificial streaming and inorganic activity.

Below are some forms of content that will be rejected upon approval:

  • Generic or non-existent artist names;
  • Album or track titles that are misleading (misleading content);
  • Content very similar to an original song (similar sound);
  • Songs that fall into the following categories:
    • Relaxation Music
    • Meditation Music
    • Therapy Music
    • Therapy Noise (White Noise)
    • Nature Sounds
    • Background Music
    • Non-exclusive Beats
    • Hate speech
    • Explicit content involving minors
    • Strictly non-musical content, such as religious services, podcasts, e-books, or any voice recording without musical accompaniment.

To ensure that your content is approved efficiently and meets all the requirements of distribution platforms, we request special attention to the following registration guidelines:

  • If your product requires authorization to be distributed (includes third-party material such as samples, images, etc.), have the document ready to send to our team.
  • Your content must be published at least 2 weeks before the distribution date. This deadline is essential to ensure there is time for required adjustments.
  • During the album registration process, there are two release date fields to be completed: “Release Date” and “Original Release Date”. The “Release Date” field should indicate the date on which the product will be made available in stores. The “Original Release Date” field should only be filled in if the album has been previously released, informing the original release date.
  • Not all stores allow you to select the release time.
  • In the case of Compilations / Reviews / Medleys, the track title must contain the list of all the songs that were performed, separated by slashes. Ex: Music #1 / Music #2 / Music #3, etc.
  • All writers and composers of the works must be registered clearly and correctly.  Production collaborators, such as Beat-makers, Remixers, and DJs, must be credited with their respective roles as Producers and not as Performers (Main/Primary Artist) in the registration. You must register at least one producer and one musician on the album.
  • The practice of registering Labels as Artists is no longer accepted by stores and platforms and is therefore not permitted. If you already have an artistic project that has been previously distributed, please inform our team.
  • Ensure that your content is well recorded and within the standards required by ONErpm and digital platforms to avoid being rejected. If in doubt, consult the Terms and Conditions on our website.
